Rabbi Kamenetzky joined our school in March 2011. Rabbi Kamenetzky has 25 years of successful chinuch experience with accreditation from Torah u’Mesorah and a master’s degree in administration from Loyola University in Chicago.
In 2008, he led a thriving elementary school as the Menahel of the Toronto Talmud Torah.
Rabbi Kamenetzky has led educational programs for Jews in various cultural environments such as Great Britain, Russia and Israel. He encourages his students and others to appreciate and reinforce their connections to the past thus ensuring their legacy for future generations.
With over 35 years’ experience, Mrs. Wasserman is the Principal of Joe Dwek Ohr HaEmet and leads our General Studies program to ensure we achieve the highest level of education for our children according to guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training.
She holds an Honors BA from York University, a teaching degree from Teacher’s College, and a Special Education degree from Glendon College.
Mrs. Wasserman continually updates her skill set with frequent courses taken through The Centre for Jewish Education, and is a member of the Principals Association.
Mrs. Cohen possesses over 18 years of experience in Israel, Russia and Canada. She shares our commitment to excellence. She holds a BA from York University and Teacher Certificate from Michlelet Beit Rivka in Israel.
Mrs. Cohen has also taken formal training in Hebrew as a Second Language, Hebrew Grammar, Junior High Math, and Special Education. Mrs. Cohen continues her Professional Development by taking courses through The Centre for Jewish Education and is a member of the Principals Association.
In addition to her Vice Principal duties, Mrs. Cohen is charged with developing our Grades 7 & 8 girls Hebrew Studies.
Mrs. Herzog-Green was delighted to join JDOHSS in the summer of 2011. For the past 40 years, she has taught in both the Elementary and Secondary panel, with most of her experience in the area of Special Education.
In the last 11 years, Mrs. Herzog-Green was the Head of Special Education in York Region schools. She serves as a professional liaison between teachers, parents, and educational consultants. As well, she prepares individual student programs to meet the learning styles, emotional and academic needs of the students.
Finally, she provides PD for teachers personally and through outside professionals to develop skills in meeting the needs of the students.
